NYP is Stopover for Coca-Cola’s Global Expedition 206 “Happiness Ambassadors”
Visit Timely as NYP launches “Mission:Happiness@NYP” Campaign

Antonio Santiago, Kelly Ferris and Tony Martin - Coca-Cola's three young "Happiness Ambassadors," who are on a year-long worldwide trip to 206 countries that sell Coca-Cola, will be heading down to Nanyang Polytechnic (NYP). The trio is on a mission to visit people from different cultures, document their experiences and share stories of happiness with the world as part of Coca-Cola's "Open Happiness" campaign.

While in Singapore, the Happiness Ambassadors will attend the Mission:Happiness@NYP lunchtime concert. The special lunchtime performance not only showcases campus talents but also serves as their expression of happiness through the arts. The students will entertain and share with the trio Singapore’s own unique multi-cultural characteristics. In line with their expedition mission, the Happiness Ambassadors will also get to engage with NYP students and uncover what makes them happy.

The trio will select one (out of three) specially decorated Coca-Cola bottle designed by NYP School of Design students. The bottles represent a “Moment of Happiness”and will represent Singapore as it is presented to the hosts of the next country. At the end of the expedition, all 206 of these one-of-a-kind bottles will be displayed in a special collection at the World of Coca-Cola in Atlanta.

The visit of the “Happiness Ambassadors” to NYP is timely as the polytechnic has launched its own year-long “Mission:Happiness@NYP” campaign. With this campaign, NYP asks its students to contemplate questions such as: “what makes you happy?”and “what does happiness mean to you?”. The purpose of this campaign is to highlight to students that their campus life is a challenging, fulfilling one which can bring them much happiness as they take part in the various Co-Curricular Activities in campus. Such activities enable them to discover and nurture their talents while form lasting relationships with likeminded individuals who share similar passions. In the process, they would also take on the challenge of leadership roles, participate in programmes that maximise their potential, and make a difference in the lives of those around them. The campaign also helps to communicate two of NYP organisational values: Can-Do Spirit and Nurturing & Caring Culture.

Many activities have been planned throughout the year to encourage students to share their expressions of happiness through videos, photographs, essays, poems, drawings, animations and so much more.

We would like to invite your reporter (together with a photographer or camera crew) to cover the event:
